About the Event
This month's film, following the same themes as the presentation, is the 2023 drama A Great Divide. The Lee family leave the Bay Area for a fresh start in the rural expanses of Wyoming, only to encounter hostility and xenophobia in their new community. How they confront these issues will break them - or make them stronger. Starring Ken Jeong, Jae Suh Park, Emerson Min, and directed by Jean Shim, A Great Divide tells a wrenching yet tender tale of a Korean American family repairing itself after struggle and loss.
Light refreshments will be served.
Please Note: Unlike the usual films in the Asian Film Series, A Great Divide will be screened in English.
This event is cosponsored by OCA-WHV, a national non-profit civil rights organization promoting and protecting the political, economic, and cultural rights of all Asian Pacific Islander Americans through initiative at all levels of the government.
