Sophie Xie

Sophie is currently a junior at Edgemont Jr/Sr High School in NY. She has worked to raise awareness of the AAPI community through a series of community activities and volunteering in YOCA-WHV, including the OCA Summer Reading Program, AAPI Youth Podcast, and Mental Health Seminars. Leading as a counselor in the Reading Program, she built up the syllabus and interacted with kids, promoting diversity and inclusivity for the AAPI community. Sophie joined YOCA’s leadership team to further advocate equality for the AAPI, and continue contributing to the community. In her free time, Sophie enjoys reading, listening to music, and creating handicrafts.
