Asian cultures shine at Kensico Plaza fair Full Article

VALHALLA — If his family hadn't stopped at a Chinese restaurant for lunch, Jeff Jaensubhakij of Scarsdale wouldn't have known about Saturday's festivities at Kensico Dam Plaza. But once he learned the date of the 12th annual Asian American Heritage Festival, he brought his family to see the celebration for the first time. "It's a great way to see what Asian-American organizations and resources are out there," he said, as his 5-year-old son sat on his shoulders and his daughters, 8 and 10, rode their bicycles. The Jaensubhakijs were among thousands of people attending the festival, sponsored by the Organization of Chinese Americans' Westchester and Hudson Valley Chapter. "People travel from Long Island and Connecticut to come to our event," said the group's president, Xiaochun Luo.
